Cork County Has Just One GP To Every 1000 People
That's according to the Medical Council, which found Cork county had just over 550 GPs in 2017
Their report also found that almost 3,000 doctors stopped practicing in Ireland between 2015 and 2017.
Meanwhile the organisation claims there's an over-reliance on doctors trained overseas in Ireland's medical sector.
Figures for 2016 show countries including Egypt, Sudan, Pakistan, Romania and the UK contributed more new entrants to the Irish register of medical practitioners than Ireland.
