Cork court disrupted by fire alarm
Both district and circuit court cases were disrupted in Cork this morning when the city's main courthouse on Washington Street had to be evacuated after a fire alarm went off.
Gardai and Courthouse staff helped members of the public and the legal profession from the building when the alarm went off just before midday.
No sign of fire was found in the 19th century building, which was refurbished in 2005 at a cost of €26 million.
People waited on the steps of the building for around ten minutes before court staff gave the all clear and court business was able to resume.
