Cork DAWG closes it's doors temporarily

A Cork Animal Welfare Shelter has closed it's doors due to the sheer volume of unwanted dogs Leeside.

Cork DAWG has had to shut it doors temporarily beacuse it is unable to take in any more neglected and unwanted dogs.

The animal welfare group have seen a number of horrific cases of abused dogs in Cork in the recent months, and has taken the drastic action in order to concentrate on the current number of animals in the shelter. 

They have appealed to people to adopt or foster animals as their facility is full with dogs and puppies with nowhere to go.

Speaking to RedFM News DAWG Adoption Co-ordinator Katie Hogan says they have seen more and more cases of cruelty and neglect, and are constantly looking for assistance with their specialist care:
