Cork Disability rights campaigner to lead protest at Dail
People with disabilites are not being given equal opportunities to fulfil their potential.
That's according to Cork Disability Rights Campaigner Joanne O'Riordan, who will be leading over 100 disability groups in a protest march on Thursday.
They are protesting at the failure of Ireland's Government to ratify the United Nations convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilites, despite promising to do so 10 years ago.
Groups such as Inclusion Ireland, the Central Remidal Clinic and Down Syndrome Ireland say by not ratifying the treaty, the Government is sending out the message that the rights of people with disabilities are not a priority.
Speaking to RedFM News Joanne O'Riordan says people with disabilities are entitled to the same rights as everyone else;
