Cork District Court Anti-Water Demonstration Suspended

A demonstration which was being held outside Cork District Court this morning has been suspended. Campaigners from anti-water charges groups in Mallow, Cobh, Mayfield and Ballyphehane were holding a rally to support fellow campaigner Brian Gould who was before the court on ten charges relating to the damage of water meters in an estate in Carrigaline last August. The case has been adjourned until April 17th when a judge will review all eleven charges including a charge of the theft of car keys which is expected to go before a judge and jury. It's the latest demonstration to be held in the last twenty four hours and follows a rally outside Angelsea Street Garda Station last night where over sixty people turned out to show their solidarity with the jailing of five anti-water charges campaigners in Dublin yesterday.
