Cork Dog Action Welfare Group Forced To Close Their Doors Until Further Notice

The group has described the pressure of people off loading dogs in the lead up to Christmas as relentless and overwhelming

The group are urging people to consider fostering or adopting a dog.

DAWG has over 70 dogs and puppies in need of a home and say they are dreading Christmas as it is one the busiest times of the year for the group. 

Speaking to RedFM News, Katie Hogan from DAWG says while some people don't understand what it takes to look after a dog, many more are looking to shelters when choosing one:
