Cork father killed in Australia remembered by his community

A book of condolences has been set up for Charlie Mc Carthy who was killed in Australia just before Christmas.

The father of two from Aghada and his wife Nicole were waiting for a taxi home in Perth on December 23rd when he was attacked.

The 32 year old is believed to have been attacked with a screw driver and suffered head injuries. 

He was rushed to hospital where he was put on life support.

His family flew from their home in Aghada to Perth to be by his side before his life support was turned off on St Stehpens Day.

According to the Irish Examiner Aghada GAA club have set up a book of condolences onsite for signing.

34 year old Australian national Andrew Doan has been charged in connection with the attack and is due before Court on January 3rd.
