Cork Father Slams HSE
A Cork father has hit out at the HSE after his daughter's efforts to get medical treatment abroad failed, after a letter got delayed in the post. On the twentieth of December, Gráinne O'Connor from Shanagarry, posted her appeal against a decision turning her down for special epilepsy tests in London. However the letter didn't arrive with the HSE until the twenty-eighth - outside the required period of 10 working days - and management wrote back, telling her the appeal was rejected. The HSE says it doesn't comment on individual cases - but Gráinne's father, Tom, says some leeway should have been given for delays.
