Cork Fine Gael TD Dara Murphy will not contest next general election
The Cork North Central TD has written to party members in the constituency to inform them of his decision.
The news comes ahead of the Fine Gael selection convention for North Cork in the coming weeks.
The former Lord Mayor of Cork was elected to the Dáil in 2011.
