Cork Food Bank Preparing To Help 2,000 Families Struggling With Back To School Costs

The average cost of sending a child to primary school is €1,000
It comes as Sinn Fein today proposed the introduction of a €140 "back to school bonus" to help ease the financial strain on parents ahead of the school year
The average cost of sending a child to primary school is €1,000, while sending students to secondary school is costing families almost €1,400 forcing some parents to cut back on holidays as well as household and food bills.
Feed Cork is partnering with the Department of Social Protection and High Street Books to give out school bags and basic supplies for primary and secondary school students on Saturday.
