Cork Garda Station Closures
A special public meeting on the early closures of Cork city garda stations is being held in City Hall at 2pm today. Barrack St station will be relocated to Anglesea Street station - which will be closing early along with Togher, Mayfield and Gurranabraher. Lord Mayor Cllr John Buttimer has been expressing serious concerns about how these early closures will affect policing in the city. He's particularly worried about Barrack Street station which provides garda cover for the college area.
