Cork Gay Project welcomes lifting of ban by Blood Board

The Cork Gay Project has welcomed the lifting of the lifetime ban on blood donations from gay men.
The group says it puts greater faith in the capacity of the Blood Board to correctly screen all blood for donation.
Under the new policy - a gay or bisexual man will be able to donate if they have not had sex with another man in the past 12 months.
The Blood Board says this change follows detailed consideration of all the issues involved over the past two years.
Speaking to RedFM News Dave Roche from the Cork Gay project says gay men have always wanted to contribute to the Blood Bank:
