Cork had the second highest number of penalty points issued to drivers last year
New Freedom of Information figures show that in total 191,000 penalty-point notices were handed out to drivers last year with 19,000 of those notices issued to Cork drivers.
The number of penalty-point notices issued to Cork drivers - for holding a mobile phone while driving - was 2,587
