Cork Has Highest Number Of Under 18's Hospitalised For Alcohol Abuse

Cork has one of the highest rates of hospitalisation for alcohol abuse for those under the age of 18.
The figures released by the HSE, show there has been an increase in the number of children and teens entering detox programmes.
Over 240 young people are now being hospitalised across the country annually due to alcohol and drugs and related problems.
A further report from the HSE along with the National Suicide Research Foundation has shown that 40 children under the age of 15 were treated for self harm episodes in Cork last year.
Speaking to RedFM News NSRF's Professor Ella Arensman says young men in particular must be encouraged to talk about mental health issues:
