Cork Healthcare Workers Warn Health Service Will Grind To A Halt If Next Week's Action Goes Ahead

If no resolution is found to the current row then three proposed strike days will go ahead next week

Over 1,000 support staff are picketing at hospitals across the city and county today in a row over pay and job evaluations.

Porters, chefs and technicians on the picket line say they often take on extra work and are calling for their pay to reflect the added responsibility.

Thousands of appointments and surgeries have been cancelled today and is expected to result in significant overcrowding in Emergency Departments for the rest of the week.

Speaking to RedFM News, Healthcare Assistant at CUH Lorraine Collins says a three day strike next week will cause huge disruption
