Cork Heritage Open Day unlocks hidden treasures today.
Up to 40 buildings across the city have unlocked their doors to the public today as Cork Heritage Open Day gets underway.
The day is expected to host up to 30,000 visitors and it's the 11th year of the event.
Elizabeth Fort, Masonic Hall and The Crawford Observatory are among the buildings open to the public today and the event kicks off Cork Heritage Week which will see a number of walking tours, workshops and exhibitions taking place right across the city.
Today's activities also include a medieval family fun day and a special walking tour to mark the 20th anniversary of Rory Gallagher.
Speaking to RedFM news, Cork City Council's Heritage Officer Niamh Twomey says it's a great opportunity for people in Cork:
