Cork highlighted by campaign group calling 30 km/h speed-limit in all Urban Areas

Carrigaline has been identified as one of the towns across Ireland that doesn't have a built-up area speed limit
In a wider analysis of city and county towns in Cork only some city housing estates had implemented 30 kilometres per hour zones while fewer in the county had done so.
No residential roads in the city or county had the 30 kilometres per hour designation.
A campaign group is leading calls for the implementation of 30 kilometres per hour speed zones across the country.
The Love 30 campaign says the Government should stick to it's promise to do so, as it signed a 2020 UN declaration to mandate the limits.
The agreement promises to put 30 kilometre signposts in places where vulnerable road users and motorists mix.
Love 30 Campaigner Joan Swift says this lower speed is in the interest of safety for non-drivers:
