Cork homeowners facing high bills following floods
Midleton, Bandon and Glanmire were some of the areas worst hit.
Some homeowners across Cork are facing repair bills of up to €50,000 following the winter storms which struck over the Christmas period.
Homes and businesses were left under water in a number of areas including Midleton, Glanmire and Bandon.
Many homeowners have been unable to return to their properties and have been forced to find alternative accommodation while the clean-up of their homes continues.
Insurance experts estimate that an average semi-detached home could see a repair bill of €50,000 when contents and alternative accommodation costs are factored in.
Frances Sheehan lives in the Lauriston Estate in Midleton and she told the Neil Prendeville Show that her home has been totally destroyed after the water came in above radiator level.
