Cork in line for substantial jobs boots if new development gets the green light

Cork's latest office block is set to deliver 450 jobs if it's given the green light.
It's been announced this morning that a planning application has been submitted for a brand new state-of-the-art office block on The South Mall.
The €25 million project planned for the Eastern end of the South Mall is the latest in a series of office blocks that have been announced Leeside.
If it's given the green light it will bring five floors of office space to the city centre which it's hoped will complement other developments such as One Albert Quay and The Capitol.
The office block which includes 85 and 86 South Mall and extends to include two additional sites to the North which will border Crane Lane, Phoenix Street and Smith Street with the main entrance lobby onto the South Mall.
JCD Group, the Cork based property development company behind the project are lodging a planning application today and if it's approved it's expected construction will begin immediately working towards a completion date of late Summer 2018.
It's hoped the office block will attract new employers particularly those in the technology sphere and possible Brexit relocations.
