Cork Initiative Has Changed Face Of Bonfire Night

Gardaí say the face of Bonfire night has changed after Cork City Council launched controlled events across the city to celebrate the night
The guards says this has resulted in a decrease in the number of illegal bonfires and a reduction in anti social behaviour.
It's the 10th year of the City Council initiatve with events planned in Knocknaheeny, Popham’s Park in Farranree, Glenamoy Park in Mayfield, Loughmahon Park in Mahon and Clashduv Park in Togher.
Speaking to RedFM News Cork City Council Community Arts Officer Stephen Scully says local community involvement has has helped to make the events so successful:
