Cork Launches New Alcohol Strategy

Cork has become one of the first counties in Ireland to launch a new alcohol strategy.
The programme was presented at County Hall yesterday evening, and is aimed at targetting the mis-use of drink in the Cork and Kerry region.
According to recent figures one person dies as a result of alcohol poisoning in Ireland each week and calls are now being made for fresh ways to tackle the increased consupmtion and availability of alcohol in Ireland.
Speaking to RedFM News HSE Drugs and Alcohol Co-ordinator David Lane says the country needs to look at the issues surrouding the availability of alcohol:
