Finance Minister Casts Doubt Over Cork-Limerick Motorway Progression
The Finance Minister says works on a motorway between Cork and Limerick isn't yet feasible due to a lack of money.
Michael Noonan says that the cost of building a motorway between the two cities would be around €1 billion and the full capital programme for roads is only €700 million.
The project was in the roads programme before the economic downturn and has since been shelved.
Speaking to RedFM News Minister Simon Coveney says the government had no choice but to delay the project despite its priority:
