Cork lobby's for relocation of EU Agency

Cork is perfectly placed as new location for the European Medicines Agency.

Thats according to Ireland South MEP Deirdre Clune has raised the issue of locating the EMA in the South with Enda Kenny and the Minister for Health Simon Harris.

The agency  has to leave it's current base in London post Brexit and competition from cities all around Europe for the relocation of the EMA is expected to be intense.

Cork is seen as a perfect location with a top class reputation as a pharmaceutical centre of excellence being home to Pfizers and Eli Lilly, two of the largest pharma compaies in the world.. 

The EU drug agency could create up to  900 direct jobs and other indirect jobs that would benefit the local economy.
