Cork Man Jailed For Killing His Friend In Pub In 2018

A north Cork man has been jailed for 8 years for killing his friend in a pub in 2018.
Michael Dineen from Ard Mhuileann Ballinwillin, Mitchelstown was cleared of murdering Patrick O'Donnell in Willie Andies pub in Mitchelstown on June 1st 2018, but was found guilty of manslaughter
28 year old Dineen, who drank up to twenty pints that day, admitted beating his friend but claimed he was acting in self defence.
Patrick O’Donnell’s wife Leanne told his sentence hearing at the Central Criminal Court that she and their four children are utterly devastated, and life without him is unbearable.
