Cork man narrowly escapes Bangkok bomb

He was visiting the city that day with his girlfriend and brother.

A Cork man who cheated death has spoken of his experience in Bangkok on Monday.

Paul Kelly from Fairhill who emigrated to Australia four years ago was holidaying in Bangkok with his partner and his brother when a bomb exploded at the Erwan Shrine. 

22 people were killed in the bombing which has sparked a nationwide hunt for those responsible.  

Speaking on the Neil Prendeville Show from Bangkok Paul says he missed the bomb by about 30 minutes after they stopped to have something to eat and do a little bit of shopping.

He described the aftermath of the bomb.
