Cork Medicinal Cannabis Campaigner Appeals For "Embargo" On Legislation To Be Lifted

Vera Twomey claims there is an effective embargo on the legislation that would legalise the drug
Cork Medicinal cannabis campaigner Vera Twomey is calling on the Health Minister to lift what she's describing as the ‘effective embargo’ on the legislation that would legalise the drug.
Her daughter Ava suffers from a severe form of epilepsy called Dravet Syndrome, which can be treated with medicinal cannabis oil.
Last year Vera walked from Cork to the Dáil to highlight Ava's condition and moved to the Netherlands to guarantee a supply of medicinal cannabis.
Vera and Ava returned to their home in Aghabullogue when a licence for the treatment was granted in November.
But she says they’re tired of travelling every three months:
