Cork MEP Says Cork To Limerick Motorway Should Be A Priority

The M20 has been described as the missing link between Cork and Limerick.

Fine Gael MEP Deirdre Clune says the motorway is vital in order to attract more business to Cork and she wants the project, which was shelved during the economic crash, to be prioritised

Businesses in the Munster region have already given their overwhelming support to the proposed motorway, with 98% stating it will enhance economic linkages between Cork and Limerick. They also hoped that the M20 would help to relieve congestion in the capital and improve competitiveness there as a result.

The proposed development would cost in the region of €850m and it is believed that toll bridges are being considered as a way to finance to project in order to fall in line with EU regulations.

Speaking to RedFM News in Brussels Deirdre Clune says the motorway link would help Cork to attract further investment
