Cork mother calls for further information on medicinal cannabis

Vera Twomey has been campaigning for a change in legislation surrounding the use of medicinal cannabis.
Medical Organisations need to distribute more information on the benefits of medicinal cannabis.
That's according to a Cork mother who has been campaigning for medicinal cannabis for her daughter Ava whose rare form of epilepsy is eased by the plant.
Vera Twomey marched from her home in Aghabullogue to the Dail earlier this year calling on the Health Minister to grant her application for medicinal cannabis.
Her application was denied by the Minister on the grounds that a consultant could not sign off on it. Consequently she moved to Holland with Ava where she is being treated by medical professionals with the use of cannabis.
Earlier this week a licence was granted to Chronic Pain Ireland along with their medical a consultant to allow a patient use medicinal cannabis for their condition.
Speaking to RedFM News, Vera says it's important consultants receive sufficient information on medicinal cannabis.
