Cork mother calls for people to show solidarity with refugees

It follows weeks of media coverage of migrants trying to cross Europeans borders.
A Cork mother is calling on the people across the city and county to show solidarity with those involved in the refugee crisis by donating what they can.
Moved by the media coverage of the refugees trying to cross European borders, Douglas woman Tracey Ryan joined forces with her friends and set up the Ireland Calais Refugee Solidarity page on 'Go Fund Me'.
The call comes as a photograph of a three year old Syrian refugee lying face down on a beach in Turkey shocked people into calling for more decisive action from the international community.
To date, the page has received almost eighteen thousand euro in donations and the group say they have a convoy of aid and fifty volunteers due to travel to Calais later this month.
Speaking to RedFM News, Tracey says the refugees need to be treated with respect.
