Cork mother continues her march to the Dail in a wheelchair

Vera Twomey is now confined to a wheelchair due to complications with her knee but is still determined to make her way to the Dail

Vera Twomey has vowed to continue her walk to the Dail despite being confined to a wheelchair.

Vera has covered 120 miles so far since she left her home in Aghabollogue on Monday but will continue her journey to the Dail on Tuesday in defiance of her current knee condition.

The Cork mother of four is campaigning for the use of medicinal cannabis for her daughter Ava who suffers from a rare form of epilepsy.

Vera's application for the use of medicinal cannabis was denied by the Department of Health as a paediatric neurologist could not sign off on it.

Ava has already suffered a seizure today and speaking to RedFM News Vera says despite her own pain she is still determined to fight for Ava's needs.
