Cork woman seeks help to raise funds for epileptic son
35-thousand-euro is needed to fund his specialised treatment.
A Cork mother has launched an appeal to help raise funds for her 21-month-old son who has a rare and severe form of epilepsy, to receive specialist medical marijuana treatment in the US.
Yvonne Cahalane, from West Cork, contacted the Neil Prendeville Show to highlight her son's plight.
One-and-half year old Tristan often has chipped teeth, nose bleeds and black eyes from falling as a result of seizures.
Yvonne says she needs to raise 35-thousand-euro to fund his treatment as the specialised medication he needs to keep his seizures under control is derived from the marijuana plant.
Yvonne says Tristan suffers from very serious seizures.
