Cork mum vows to resume her walk to Dublin if the Health Minister doesn't honour his promise to help her daughter

Simon Harris contacted her last night and outlined his support for her cause

A Cork mother has vowed to resume her walk to Dublin if the Health Minister doesn't follow through on his promise to help her daughter and outline his support for the legalisation of cannabis products for medicinal uses.

Vera Twomey walked over 20 miles to Mallow yesterday in an effort to highlight the plight of her daughter Ava who suffers from a rare form of epilepsy that sees her having up to 16 seizures a day

Vera says she received huge support on her journey to Dublin where she planned to march on the Dail however when she reached Mallow the Health Minister made direct contact with her..

He is due to make a statement this morning outlining his support for medicinal cannabis and is due to meet Vera on Wednesday

Speaking to RedFM News Vera outlined how the call with Minister Simon Harris went last evening
