Cork mum walking to Dublin to highlight daughters plight
A Cork Mum says she cannot wait any longer for life saving treatment for her Daughter.
Vera Twomey from Blarney is walking from Cork to the Minister for Health's office in Dublin in protest today.
Her daughter Ava suffers from Dravets Syndrome, a rare and catastrophic form of epilepsy, and has up to 16 seizures a day.
She is calling on the Minister for Health to legalise the use of cannabis and cannabis related products for medicinal purposes.
She fears her daughter will die unless cannabis oil CBD is prescribed to her, which has been known to control the severity and number of seizures.
Speaking on the Neil Prendeville show on Cork's RedFM Vera says she doesn't know what else she can do:
