CORK NORTH WEST : Independent John Paul O'Shea "gutted" after losing his seat

The highs and lows of GE 16 were felt powerfully across the board but especially in Cork North West where Independent candidate John Paul O'Shea said he was gutted after losing his seat..
The three seats in the Cork North West constituency were filled late last night by Fianna Fail's Aindrias Moynihan while Fine Gael's Michael Creed and Fianna Fails Michael Moynihan retained their seats.
John Paul O'Shea who is also the County Lord Mayor jumped ahead of Aine Collins after the 7th count which knocked her out of the race and was one of the bigger surprises on polling day.
This placed him against sitting TD Michael Moynihan for the third seat but John Paul O'Shea lost out by just 249 votes.
