Cork one of the safest cities in the country
Cork is one of the safest cities in the country. The Irish Examiner has carried out a study into national crime rates which shows that one in 18 people were a victim of crime last year. Crime levels are dropping in the county - it has the ninth highest level out of 21 garda divisions. However, there is a high homicide rate here with 42 people killed in the last five years.
