Cork Penny Dinners Say Rising Costs Of Back To School Has Led Families To Turn To The Charity For Help

Cork Penny Dinners says the rising costs of Back To School has led some families to turn to the charity for help with their food bills this week.
The charity has been delivering food hampers this week to families under pressure and Catriona Twomey who runs the charity says the pressure of back to school expenses seems to be getting worse every year.
She says Penny Dinners is experiencing a noticable rise in the number of hampers needed this week as parents struggle to pay their bills and put food on the table.
Many parents who contact the charity have been planning for back to school costs since the end of the school term but despite that the costs associated with back to school mean they may also be facing a tough month in September.
Speaking to RedFM News Catriona Twomey has described the parents who ask for help as "admirable":
