Cork property developer Owen O'Callaghan has died

Tributes are pouring in for Cork property developer Owen O'Callaghan who has passed away after a short illness. 

The business man was behind some of the biggest developments Leeside which were hailed as game changers for the city.

He has also been credited as one of the driving forces in changing the face of Cork City. 

Planning for "Navigation Square", Owen O'Callaghan's most recent vision for the city, was approved at the end of last year.

O'Callaghan Properties also built the iconic  Merchant's Quay Shopping Centre and Mahon Point among many other Cork developments and his work in the city has also resulted in the creation of thousands of jobs over the years. 

In a recent interview with RedFM News Owen expressed and reaffirmed his confidence in the city.
