Cork protest over introduction of water meters
A small group of protestors have gathered outside a city hotel this morning for the announcement of 400 new jobs at Irish Water. The new company has been tasked with the installation of meters at hundreds of thousands of homes across the country,over the next three years Irish Water expects to start hiring immediately The contract for the call centre has been awarded to Abtran, the company which recently operated the Local Property Tax helpline on behalf of Revenue.
