Cork pub moves to defend tweet promoting alcohol to Leaving cert students

A Cork pub has described a tweet which advised Leaving Certs that alcohol would be on sale from 10.30 in the morning as a joke. The tweet from Bishopstown Bar has been described by the National Parents Council Post-Primary as 'disappointing'. The message which urged students to remember that they serve alcohol from 10.30am has also received a backlash on social media networks. The pub has since removed the tweet. Damien Sreenan who handles the PR and social media for the Bishopstown Bar told the Neil Prendeville Show that the tweet was "tongue and cheek" and not meant to encourage anyone to binge drink [CLIP]
