Cork public urged to conserve water in an attempt to avoid water shortages

Demand is expected to soar during July and August as staycations peak.

The public are being asked to conserve water in their homes, businesses and farms by not using pressure washers or paddling pools.

People are also being encouraged to take shorter showers, and reuse household water for the garden.

Irish Water say there are currently no plans to implement a Water Conservation Order.
