Cork Rental rates higher now than during Celtic Tiger

Rents in Cork city have jumped up by 18% in the past 12 months.
The average rent nationwide now stands at €1,037 which is higher than during the Celtic Tiger
The daft.ie survey shows that rents in Cork county have risen by 11%
High prices in the rental market are also being blamed on a severe shortage of housing supply.
As of August 1st there were just over 36-hundred properties available to rent nationwide.
Fintan McNamara, from the residential landlords association, explains why fewer people want to rent out their premises:
