Cork Restaurant Owner: New Restaurant Rules Not Going To Solve Anything
The measure requires businesses to keep a record of people's substantial meals for 28 days
The rules were introduced by the Health Minister Stephen Donnelly to allow Gardaí to monitor compliance with the regulations after reports that some premises have been flouting the requirement for a substantial meal to be served when ordering alcohol.
Restaurant groups and pub representatives have reacted furiously to the new regulations saying they weren't consulted about the changes.
Speaking to RedFM News Claire Nash from Nash 19 on Princes Street in the city says the new regulations are unnecessary:
