Cork Simon launch "Empty Homes" campaign

The charity is appealing to landlords and property owners with empty homes for rent or purchase to contact them
Cork Simon has launched the "Empty Homes" campaign which will see them trying to source accommodation directly for homeless people and people who find themselves stuck in emergency accommodation.
Cenus 2016 shows that there are nearly 20,000 vacant properties in the city and county which would go a long way towards helping to alleviate Cork's housing and homeless crisis
The Empty Homes campaign will allow Simon tap into existing Government funding schemes to purchase or lease these properties.
Speaking to RedFM News Sophie Johnston of Cork Simon outlines what makes this scheme attractive to landlords and property owners.
