Cork Simon plan new apartment project for the city

A planning application is being submitted to Cork City Council this week.

A Cork charity for the homeless plan to developmet a €1 million apartment project in the city centre. 

Cork Simon is set to lodge a planning application to Cork City Council for the development this week. 

It will see the conversion the St Joachim and Anne's building on Anglesea Street it into 8 one bedroom units. 

It's hoped the project will work towards tackling the rise in homelessness in the city with the charity reporting an increase in the number of people accessing their services this year. 

Speaking to RedFM News, Cork Simon's Paul Sheehan outlines the plan for the project.
