Cork Simon says Cork's housing crisis is driving the homeless crisis

The charity says a new 8 bed unit will ease the pressure if it gets the green light but not solve the problem:
Cork Simon say they will need a lot more than a new 8 bed unit to tackle the homeless crisis Leeside.
The charity for the homeless is lodging a planning application with the City Council this week for a €1 million apartment project in the city.
It will see the conversion of the St Joachim and Anne's building on Anglesea Street into 8 one bedroom units.
The charity says their Outreach Team met 76 people sleeping rough on the city street in March 2016.
Speaking to RedFM News, Cork Simon's Paul Sheehan says it will ease the pressure if it gets the green light but not solve the problem:
