Cork TD: Survivors Of Mother & Baby Homes Have Right To Know How Their Children Died And Where They Are Buried
Cork TD Holly Cairns has called for inquests to be held into all deaths at mother and baby homes
It's believed that up to 900 babies are buried on the grounds of Bessborough in Blackrock and Deputy Cairns says survivors and their families have already endured decades of injustice and delays
Speaking to RedFM News the Cork TD says the least these children and their families are owed is an investigation into how they died:
"It was quite harrowing to hear the reports and things like that. Because there's more bones and infant skulls and more mixing of them. It would be a very long process. And it would be absolutely unprecedented in resources, like nothing the coroner has ever done in this country before. But there is no cost that is too much in relation to providing justice for people."
