Cork To Receive Business Tourism Boost

Cork is on target to benefit from up to €11 million euro from Business Tourism by the end of 2016.

The Cork Convention Bureau have secured a number of major conferences around the city and county already this year, with more than 3,500 delegates expected between now and the end of the year.

Recent figures from Fáilte Ireland show business tourists and conference delegates spend up to three times more than a leisure tourist, and are worth up to €1,500 each for the local economy.

Speaking to RedFM News Project Manager at the Cork Convention Bureau Steve Cox says when built, the Events Centre will allow them to bid for much bigger conferences in the future:
