Cork to Ringaskiddy Road Operating Over Capacity
The current Cork to Ringaskiddy road is at a critical level of over capacity and will not be able to sustain the traffic volumes much longer.
That’s according to representatives from nine multi-national companies based at Ringaskiddy who today voiced their support for the M28 motorway at An Bord Pleanala’s oral hearing.
The Bio-Pharama companies currently employ over 5,000 people and say the volumes of traffic are leading to safety issues on the N28 with several fatalities on the road over the past 10 years.
They argued that the construction of the motorway will significantly improve driving conditions for all commuters, many of whom are employees.
Speaking to RedFM News Biomarin Michael O’Donnell says there are many benefits to the upgrade for local companies:
