Cork to US route expected to be discussed in Washington

The Taoiseach Enda Kenny is in the US for Saint Patrick's Day visits.

Delays in the take off of the Cork transatlantic route are expected to raised at the higest level in the White House today.

The Taoiseach is Washington for the traditional exchange of the Shamrock and it's reported that he will voice his concerns about delays in the granting of a license by the US Department of Transportation to Norwegian Air International who were planning to operate a Cork to Boston route this year and a service to New York next year.

Enda Kenny is only spending one day in the United States in his capacity as caretaker Taoiseach and will return to Ireland for talks on forming a Government before heading to Brussels for a summit.
