Cork Traders Express Fear Over Commercial Rate Increases

Businesses in the city are being hit with a 1.25% rates hike after what's been described as a tense budget meeting in City Hall last night.
Instead of the origincally proposed 2.9% hike councillors agreed on a 1.25% increase in conjunction with a parking charges increase, and funding cuts including cuts to some city council backed events including Pulses of Tradition and Glow.
Traders have been expressing their fears about any commercial rates hike.
Businesses in North Main Street say the City Council is contradicting itself even discussing rate increases when it says it's backing the rejuvenation of North Main Street.
Speaking to RedFM News Tom Ellis of Decor8 and Greg from the Vitamin shop on North Main Street say they're struggling to survive as it is, and they feel the City Council don't care:
